I am a dynamic and results-driven professional with Military Intelligence experience, a Master’s of Professional Studies in Homeland Security and Geospatial Intelligence, and I have a demonstrated history of developing and managing personnel within public and private organizations as a proactive community member.
I have gained invaluable knowledge through my career and education. Currently, I am a student in the Pennsylvania State University’s online World Campus Graduate School. I will finish my Homeland Security MPS, with a specialization in Geospatial Intelligence in April of 2018. In 2017, I obtained a Graduate Certificate in Geospatial Intelligence Analytics from Penn State, where I was selected to work on a comparison of international geospatial intelligence practices, as well as awarded a USGIF Geospatial Intelligence Certification. I have also been awarded a Graduate Certificate in Leadership from the Los Angeles Fire Department Leadership Academy and numerous Independent Study certifications through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Although I have spent the past few years focusing my education, I have been an active member in the community, becoming an expert in volunteer recruiting, development, and fundraising. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Army, I joined Bank of America’s Military Support and Appreciation Group, where I served as the Boston chapter’s President, and as a happy member here in Los Angeles. After leaving the bank to return to school, I joined other veteran charities, namely Operation Supply Drop and Stack Up, where I served as a local team leader in Los Angeles for OSD and then as a regional coordinator and program director for Stack Up. I used my knowledge and experience to start my own charity, Team Push Up, that provides veterans social support groups to act as a new unit to come to before, during and after the transition back to civilian life. I also serve as a Board Member of the Hollywood Studio District Neighborhood Council and act as their Public Safety Committee Chairman. This position requires a great deal of listening to stakeholder concerns, building community relationships, and providing a voice to the various city departments and agencies.
My core competencies include public administration, business, management, training and development, process improvements, geographic information systems, strategic planning, client & vendor management, team leadership, community stakeholder relations, and Homeland Security/Emergency Management laws, policies, procedures, and best practices.
