The Program Manager works collaboratively with the Training and Technical Assistance team and other Cardea staff on virtual and in-person training design and delivery, organizational development, and other capacity building initiatives. This position will report directly to the Director of Partnership and Innovation and will be located in Southern California. This is a remote position with a high degree of ability to work independently outside of a standard office environment. This position will initially support Cardea’s Working to Institutionalize Sexuality Education (WISE) project. The WISE Initiative supports schools in implementing quality sex education to prepare our nation’s youth for life-long health and well-being. Through WISE, Cardea partners with local county offices of education (COE) to support school districts in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino counties, with possible expansion into Santa Barbara, Ventura and Imperial counties. While the position will initially support WISE, the successful candidate will be expected to provide training and support for a range of topics and projects across Cardea. Specific Responsibilities Provide training, technical assistance, and consultation to health and human service organizations, including capacity building events and activities for professionals and or community members Design, develop, implement and evaluate training, training curricula, and other project products Design and deliver presentations at meetings, conferences and webinars Coordinate, plan, facilitate and evaluate community collaboratives and communities of practice. Identify and develop resources to support training and organizational capacity building Assist with development of marketing plan for events Assist with evaluation of projects and events Assist with generating reports for dissemination to funders and program partners Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and community partners Contribute to new business activities through networking and the development and preparation of proposals to public and private funders Participate in local, regional, and national meetings, as requested by the Leadership Team and/or Director of Partnership and Innovation Desired Skills and Abilities Demonstrated experience in managing multiple tasks, organizing and prioritizing work assignments and on-going duties Ability to work independently off-site while clearly communicating tasks and activities with supervisor and team Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to rapidly assimilate new information and adjust to dynamic work environment Knowledge and experience in mission-specific areas such as: Health and human service issues, experience in public health a plus; Sexual health education, including reproductive health, and school-based comprehensive sexuality education; Principles of Social Emotional Learning, particularly in a school-based setting; Providing training and capacity building for community-based organizations (CBOs), health departments, and schools; Developing and delivering virtual and on-site training using adult learning theory and a variety of methodologies and techniques; and Working with diverse constituencies including public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community groups and organizations Understanding of public education systems, programs and initiatives Experience with Windows, MS Office software, and Learning Management Systems Ability to travel up to two weeks per month Benefits Cardea provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, and local laws.
