USC’s School of Cinematic Arts is seeking a Manager of Theatre Services. The School of Cinematic Arts is the premiere school for the study of cinematic arts and provides instruction in production, post-production, animation, interactive media and gaming, writing, producing and cinema studies. The facilities include state-of-the-art theatres, including a 55-seat IMAX theatre. The Manager of Theater Services will be responsible for managing a team of staff and students who are responsible for securing media and coordinating with end users and vendors to operate the school’s theater spaces successfully. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting end-users and managing a team of employees in a theater environment. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills and be focused on customer satisfaction. The role also requires a strong working knowledge of media formats and projection equipment. The candidate must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends as needed. Responsibilities: Direct and organizes the development, setup, and production of theatrical, academic media-related programming and special events. Plans, schedules and coordinates media and projection services. Recruits, screens, hires and trains staff and students. Create procedures and documentation and provide technical training/presentation for students, faculty and staff. Acquires and maintains database of media assets. Inspects and monitors various media. Develops and implements operating procedures and guidelines. Ensures compliance with current, applicable policies and laws. Establishes and maintains relationships with both major studio distributors and non-theatrical vendors. Plans and administers budget including student wage budget and purchases or rental of the appropriate media. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree 4 years of experience in a theater environment with management experience Demonstrated experience in a leadership or management role Proven ability to successfully hire and train employees Demonstrated assessment, interpersonal and written and oral communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in cinema or related entertainment field The pay range for this position is $72,000-$84,000 annually. Manages and oversees operation of the Norris Theatre and film-related programs. Provides film and projection services for classes and events. Has direct responsibility for scheduling, advertising, acquisition, and maintenance. Supervises employees and student workers engaged in facilities' services.
