Lead a highly effective team to provide outstanding customer service to employees. Maintain organizational compliance by developing and implementing policies, programs and services that allow employees to focus on the mission of preparing students for college, leadership, and life. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES > Manage and coach 3 direct reports and oversee a department of 7-9 team members to deliver day-to-day human resources services to over 1200 employees > Empower team members to engage in reflective practice resulting in continually improved practices, protocols and systems > Effectively set and execute short and long-term strategic goals and metrics for the department that complements and enhances the strategic goals of the organization and consistently delivers on the department vision > Be a visible network leader in all HR conversations, interactions, and communications thru embodying and championing Green Dot as a great place to work thru Green Dot’s culture and core values > Partner with the Human Capital Department to connect talent strategy with seamless Human Resources operations (e.g. hiring, onboarding, job changes, exits, etc.) that ensures programs, policies, and services meet the needs of staff with all legal, government, and benefits reporting requirements > Inspire continuous improvement and implementation of the following functions and partnerships within the department: * General employee relations, such as written warnings, mediating investigations, and terminating employees * Timely and accurate regular and off-cycle pay and benefits related deductions * Continuous improvement of the HRIS system (Workday) to automate HR processes, increase employee self-service, and ensure accurate employee data and timely reports for payroll processing and compliance reporting * Administration and compliance of hiring and ongoing employment requirements such as background and TB clearances, mandatory trainings, and credential compliance * Administration and compliance of Green Dot’s health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, and employee assistance program * Administration and compliance of retirement plans, including Green Dot’s 401K and state pension programs * Administration and compliance of leaves of absences and worker’s compensation * Administration of Green Dot’s volunteer program, ensuring seamless onboarding and off-boarding, and ensure compliance with volunteer requirements per federal, state, and/or authorizers * Support Green Dot Managers in employee compensation, classifications, job changes, etc. to ensure best practices and compliance are being met; deliver training & development to Green Dot Managers to ensure consistency of policies and practices and provide updates on newly updated laws > Negotiate with HR vendors, including, but not limited to annual health and welfare benefits renewal, to secure maximum benefit for employees across Green Dot > Implement systems that ensure overall HR compliance is being met across federal, state, and charter authorizer requirements, including annual review of Green Dot employee handbooks > Actively engage with employees at all levels across the organization to promote positive and constructive employee relations > Partner with Green Dot’s Collective Bargaining teams to strategize and execute on HR related contract language > Develop, evaluate, and continuously improve and evolve systems to deliver HR services with attention to efficiency, measurable quality, customer service, and data-driven decision making QUALIFICATIONS > A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred, with an emphasis in human resources, business or a related field > You have 6+ years of work experience, including at least 3 in strategic HR management > You have 4+ years managing and developing people with a proven track record in effectively managing and developing staff talent > You have experience in education, especially in public K-12 strongly preferred > You have excellent strategic thinking and strategic planning abilities > You have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to direct others in collecting data and deriving practical insights from data analysis > You have demonstrated success improving the efficiency and effectiveness of an operation; smart systems-building > You have demonstrated success in building exceptional relationships and being a trusted advisor > You have a relentless commitment to and high standards for high quality execution > You have a high level of personal responsibility and drive towards ambitious goals > You have a strong sense of integrity, ethics, and drive to achieve and grow > You are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot’s mission and the communities we serve > You will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer The information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor is it intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to perform the job. COMPENSATION The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000, based on experience.
