Position Summary (Intent and purpose of the role)

*This is a twenty-four month contract, benefits-eligible position*

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is excited to announce two (2) Recruiting Coordinator openings on our HR team to be the front-line ambassadors for the Museum, creating a world-class interviewing experience for candidates and directly contributing to the Museum’s growth. Reporting to the HR Generalist, the Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for performing a range of recruitment and selection duties and will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: providing administrative support to the Recruiting team; coordinating recruiting operations in close partnership with HR members; creating an exemplary hiring process and candidate experience; and handling a range of special projects in service of supporting our recruitment and selection efforts at the Museum.

This is a non-exempt, hourly, benefits-eligible role with an expected opening salary range of $19.07-$21.45 per hour. An attractive compensation package will be offered to the successful candidate(s). The Museum will be hiring two (2) candidates for this position.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Recruiting Coordination

  • Under direction of the HR Generalist, partners with members of the HR team to create a thorough and positive interviewing experience for candidates;
  • Provides general departmental administrative and clerical support to the HR team, including:
    • scheduling interviews at all stages of the hiring process;
    • coordinating and managing travel arrangements for candidates;
    • completing monthly hiring metrics reports; and
    • processing expense reports and other financial documents as needed;
  • Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, online job posts, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates;
  • Works closely with the HR Generalist to support recruitment and selection needs for open roles;
  • Assists with screening resumes, interviewing candidates, administering appropriate assessments, and performing reference/background checks;
  • Follows up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process;
  • Identifies opportunities for improving the candidate experience and scheduling efficiency;
  • Updates candidate information, job descriptions and postings;
  • Assists with planning events that promote our recruitment priorities and advance our recruitment strategy;
  • Assists with managing current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS);

Special projects and other duties as designated by the HR Generalist or assigned designee.


Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required, a combination of equivalent education and relevant experience may be substituted for this requirement;
  • At least one (1) year of prior experience as a recruiting coordinator or in an administrative assistant capacity;
  • Previous experience at a cultural or educational institution a plus;


  • Solid organizational and project management skills;
  • A collaborative team player with highly developed interpersonal skills who can relate to diverse internal and external audiences;
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution;
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills;


  • Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices;


  • Ability to use applicant tracking systems (e.g. Workable, Greenhouse, Taleo) to track a diverse pipeline of candidates through various stages of the recruitment and selection process;
  • Ability to understand and follow complex, detailed instructions;
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, creative, collaborative, and nimble environment.


Salary and titles will be assigned commensurate to the successful candidate’s education and experience. An attractive compensation package will be offered to the successful candidates
