Job Description:

The Program Manager will oversee programmatic initiatives with specialty products and the respective provider facilities that treat a wide variety of medical conditions. They will lead program development, documentation, and enrollment initiatives. In addition, the Program Manager will assess product needs of Direct Relief's new and Existing partners and work with Direct Relief's corporate engagement team to maintain and expand resources and to ultimately meet Direct Relief’s programmatic objectives. This position is directly responsible for leadership and management of programs that provide support to specialty providers, including hospitals, dialysis centers, cancer centers, mental health facilities, and other specialty providers.  The Program Manager will be an integral component to the design, implementation, and management of specialty charitable programs.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic development of specialty provider networks;
  • Development, implementation and maintenance of well-managed, program specific enrollment processes for providers;
  • Development and management of procedures for the logistics of timely delivery of all pharmaceutical products;
  • Manage expansion of contracts and guidelines for provider and donor participation;
  • Create a systematic approach for conducting periodic audits of the provider participants to ensure compliance;
  • Interaction with IT to assist in development of system and reporting modifications;
  • Lead and implement development of program guidelines, including Standard Operating Procedures for participating providers;
  • Responsible for program development, program compliance, budget management, the implementation of performance metrics, and programmatic reporting​;
  • Attend and present at professional conferences including the pursuit of outside speaking engagements;
  • Present program business updates to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Report and monitor the program on a quarterly basis to donors and key stakeholders;
  • Work closely with the Program Directors of the respective programs;
  • Arrange travel for program meetings and site visits;
  • Receive and maintain regular reporting from partners;
  • Develop opportunities for growth in specialty programs with existing and new companies;
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience;
  • Experience with specialty medicines and products, patient assistance programs and medical background will be a distinct advantage;
  • Previous experience with PAPs, pharmaceutical sales, marketing, and healthcare networks is highly desired;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multifunctional team;
  • Ability to in a fast paced, high growth environment;
  • Ability to work and interact with multiple senior level external stakeholders;
  • Excellent project management skills;
  • Strong presentation, written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple competing interests/ tasks and prioritize accordingly;
  • Have excellent organizational skills, be detail and task oriented;
  • Excellent computer skills especially with Microsoft applications; experience with SAP a bonus;
