This position will be a work from home position in the PACIFIC region. 

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Senior and Lead Director, RD Club Consultants, the Director, RD Club Consultants will assume responsibility for the on-going advanced resource development with a portfolio of Clubs.  This position will be responsible for training, consulting and assisting local Club staff and volunteers in the areas of major gifts, planned giving, and specialized services and will personally demonstrate donor relationship building utilizing cultivation and stewardship skills in the assigned area. In addition, the Director will grow a Club pipeline by assisting Clubs to advance in resource development to the Mastery and Legacy levels.

 

·       Work within your assigned Clubs to implement gift planning strategies that assist Clubs to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned gift prospects.
·       Work with Club staff and volunteer leaders to impart the knowledge to further major gift fundraising and to promote specific gift opportunities.
·       Assist Clubs with structuring and conducting a planned giving campaign from the feasibility study to gift closure.
·       Train Clubs on how to follow up on identifying and qualifying the most promising leads; conduct donor cultivation strategies; track all prospects and donors in donor management system and close major and planned gifts.
·       Strategically facilitate setting fundraising goals and timelines that are aligned with Club needs and community potential for major gifts.
·       Provide expertise regarding relationship building actions/activities to cultivate potential donors, including how to build a pipeline for future donors.
·       Provide range of gift tables and gift calculations when requested. 
·       Assist Clubs in developing a simple planned giving marketing plan to both their internal and external prospects; assisting Clubs with ongoing estate planning needs including donor or advisor meetings
·       Provide campaign consulting for capital or endowment campaigns from vendor selection, feasibility, goal setting, and implementation
·       Complete and submit expense reports, completed gift agreement and monthly reports to the Atlanta Office, and maintain portfolio weekly.
·       Maintain a close relationship with all BGCA-Resource Development and OEDS Staff.

·       Maintain a close relationship with all Club staff and volunteers within assigned regions and conduct training sessions for volunteers through regional and national conferences.

·       Provide input regarding a national marketing plan.

·       Perform additional duties as assigned and provide support to the Senior/Lead Director, RD Club Consultants

·       Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in BGCA's Employee Handbook, Ethics Policy and elsewhere.

 

No direct Reports. May monitor and coordinate the work of temporary employees and student interns

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.  Master’s degree, Juris Doctorate or financial planning credentials (e.g. Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Life Underwriter, etc.) preferred.  Formal training in estate planning and planned giving required.
  • Minimum of five to seven years’ experience in a major gifts and planned giving environment; successful proven record of completing major gifts and planned giving agreements through personal solicitations.  This position requires a seasoned leader.  Working knowledge of intestacy laws, federal estate tax, federal income tax and state inheritance taxes, and estate planning strategies (e.g. credit trusts, Q-Tip trusts, CRT/Wealth replacement trusts). Working knowledge of major gift and donor-centered strategies (i.e. moves management).


·       Superior interpersonal abilities, ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, flexible, excellent listening, thinking, negotiating and reasoning skills.  Demonstrated high standards of ethics and integrity.  Intermediate Microsoft Office skills are necessary.  PG Calc gift illustration skills preferred.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical.

High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to day activities, good reasoning abilities, sound judgment and the ability to work under time pressures.  Ability to work without the need for immediate supervision. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, sitting for more than four hours a day and other physical requirements required performing the essential functions in this position. Ability to present day and a half training curriculum for Advancing Philanthropy.
