Job Description

Summary: The Bookkeeper supports the accounting department in carrying out the daily operations of the organization. The Bookkeeper performs a variety of assignments including, but not limited to: daily processing of donations, generating donation receipts, generating reports, processing food pak donations, updating donor database, assisting with accounts payable, and filing.   Responsibilities:
  • Processing credit card donations into Salesforce
  • Processing lockbox donations into Salesforce
  • Prepare donation receipts and reports
  • Assist Relationship Development department with donor inquires
  • Assist in processing accounts payable invoices
  • Participate in month end closing
  • Participate in yearly audit
  • Actively participate in required meetings and events (e.g. staff meeting, department meeting, Toy Wrap)
  • Confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; active member of an evangelical Christian local church; demonstrates ongoing growth in Christian maturity
  • Prior bookkeeping experience
  • Salesforce and Intacct is preferred
  • Non-profit accounting experience a plus
  • Knowledge of GAAP as well as general business principles and standard operating practices
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent user of Windows/MS Office/Internet, able to quickly learn new software applications
