Position Summary: Relief International is looking for an Intern with our Human Resources Department to work directly with our Benefits manager. This is a great opportunity to gain specialized knowledge of the benefits function of an international humanitarian Non-Profit, as well as get an overview of a busy Human Resources Department.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist with the maintenance of insurance carrier information
Research opportunities for health and wellness fairs
Collaborate with manager on creative ways to communicate benefit information to employees
Draft communications on employee benefits and perks
Work with manager on finding benefit vendors to enhance wellness program
Create benefit file for new employees
Assist with benefit administration (enrollment and termination of members)
Keeps all benefit paperwork and information filed properly
Formats and posts online fillable forms related to benefits and payroll thru Docusign
Assist with the tracking of employee leave balances
Assist with monthly benefit invoices
Help the HR team with special projects as needed.
Qualifications & requirements:
Candidate must be Detail Oriented
Must have advanced MS Excel skills
Requires analytical thinking skills and time management
Must be cooperative
Know how to take initiative, and think creatively
Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.
Strong ability to multi-task
Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team
Must be dependable and carry a professional demeanor
15 hours minimum; M-F varied schedule
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Salary: Unpaid, monthly transportation stipend and academic credit available
