Any child can fall victim to abuse, however, living in poverty can perpetuate it even more so.  About 96% of the 30,000 children and parents we serve annually throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties live at or below the poverty level.  To help these struggling families, Children's Bureau focuses on child abuse prevention (parenting classes, counseling, school readiness, family resource centers, ESL classes, health programs, financial workshops, etc.), treatment (foster care, adoption and mental health counseling), training, research and evaluation and advocacy.
