POSITION SUMMARY:  The Technical Communications Manager works with Information Technology Services (ITS) Directors and teams to plan, develop, coordinate and execute a communications strategy for all ITS technology-related projects. The Manager oversees the enhancement and expansion of departmental communications to campus and other constituents, particularly ITS’ web-based, email and print communications (if applicable). The Technical Communications Manager may also serve as a liaison to faculty, staff, and students as projects are conceived, planned, and deployed. This position report to the Director, IT Project Management.


Note: This is a temporary position with an August 31, 2020 end date.


QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Degree in Communications, Digital Communications, Technical Writing, English Literature, Marketing, or Public Relations is highly desired. Publishing or writing certifications or licenses is highly desired.  Two to four years of technology-related communication is required. Experience that involved communications and provided analysis services to technology client services in a higher education or professional services setting preferred. Requires business analysis experience in a team-based cross-functional environment. Must have project management experience, including demonstrated ability to present and lead functional experts and executives through complex presentations.


REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.  Holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required.  Travel will be required.  Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
