TITLE:  Program Supervisor I

 REPORTS TO:  Program Supervisor II or above

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Master’s degree, from an accredited four-year college or university, depending on the program requirements or related fields, master’s in social work preferred
• Two to four years direct service experience with preferred experience in child welfare, family engagement, community collaboration, and/or early childhood development.
• Two or more years of management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Knowledge of Trauma Informed and Equity Practices 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:          

Under general supervision, the Program Supervisor I is responsible for a prevention program and supervising full-time administrative or program employees.  This position may also supervise agency interns. 

V.        DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides general supervision to staff assigned to program or function, including recruitment, selection, training, performance evaluation, discipline, etc.
•  Implements all assigned program requirements, ensuring that contractual obligations are met, including required reports.
• Maintains positive external relationships in the community, including involvement in relevant collaboratives, DCFS, coalitions and other related partnership development activities within the local Service Planning Area 6 (SPA 6).  
• Carries out program management activities such as planning, staffing, budget, evaluation, and program development.
• Has overall responsibility for all contractually required documentation.
• Identifies potential problems with program or function and develops possible solutions, obtaining appropriate approvals when necessary.
• Works in partnership with agency’s Development Department for program fundraising efforts.
• Conducts community outreach presentations through public speaking across the local Service Planning Area 6.
• Provides individual and group supervision to staff that provide direct service to clients.
•  Lead staff meetings
•  Provides oversight to assist with facilitation of program referrals
•  Keeps immediate supervisor informed regarding status of program.
•  Provides training and supervision to agency graduate and undergraduate interns.

VI.       GENERAL:    

• Maintains confidentiality in matters of agency operations, personnel, and clients.
• Maintains positive communications with all agency staff, clients, and visitors.
• Exercises good judgment in performance of duties and responsibilities
• Supports existing agency policies, principles, and mission.
• Other related duties as assigned.
