Job Title: Development Associate

Department: Development

Reports to: Senior Events and In-Kind Manager     


Reporting directly to the Senior Events & In-kind Manager, the Development Associate provides primary support for in-kind management and provides high quality general support for all community and fundraising components within the Special Initiatives and External Relations sub-department. This position will provide auxiliary support, including, but not limited to: event processing monetary processing, auction management, minute-taking at assigned meetings, data entry, mailing, inventory of in-kind, in-kind reports, in-kind management, and volunteer support at events. This role requires the ability to take direction and work independently. The Development Associate must take initiative, see in-kind projects through to completion, and anticipate agency and department needs.



  • Provide and facilitate connection between Development and all other agency departments. Serve as a representative of the Development department at all times (includes modeling adherence to APCH philosophy, team support, policies and procedures);
  • Coordinate with receiving, processing and acknowledging all in-kind donations of goods and services including auction items for events and/or other initiatives
  • Ensure that all in-kind donations are entered and tracked accurately in donor database along with assigned financial value;
  • Coordinate the reconciliation of donor database with Accounting Department on a monthly basis;
  • Provide general support for all APCH events, community and fundraisers; ·
  • Provide back office and general support for events including but not limited to financial processing, tracking, reporting, logistics and other areas as needed;
  • Act as an ambassador of the agency including but not limited to providing tours to donors and other stakeholders, representing the agency at external functions, etc.;
  • Generate accurate mailing lists for development events, appeals and other solicitations;
  • Coordinate and manage the organization’s in-kind inventory;
  • Coordinate and manage tracker for all in-kind storage locations;
  • Coordinate and manage the upkeep of all storage areas, including, but not limited to the shipping containers, upstairs Bridge attic, upstairs dance studio attic, etc.
  • Coordinate delivery/pick-ups for approved in-kind donations in collaboration with the Transportation Department;
  • Document in-kind donations into Salesforce;
  • Assist with monetary processing when assigned;
  • Assist with documenting in Salesforce with donor trajectory for cultivation purposes;
  • Process invoice requests and purchases on behalf of department;
  • Provide professional and courteous customer/donor support to direct requests to the appropriate individuals or departments, and follow up to ensure requests are fulfilled;
  • Manage in-kind training for new employees and interns on proper in-kind receipt protocol;
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of Development offices and storage areas and serve as primary point of contact for inventory;
  • Adhere to safety best practices at all times;
  • Regular attendance, accountability, and punctuality with regard to work meetings, professional development sessions, and commitments;
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Associate Degree 
  • 2 Years Administrative Experience
  • Non-Profit Administrative Experience Preferred
