Job Description


•Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications campaign to support audience development for Music Center-presented or produced events with specific responsibility for marketing oversight of TMC Arts events including community programs, arts education initiatives, special events and other programs.

•Develop and implement marketing communications programs to support brand and sales goals for Music Center restaurants on The Music Center Plaza.

•Manage and coordinate both digital and traditional advertising support for these programs; including creative development and media planning/buying, media sponsorships and trade opportunities, promotional support via promotional partnerships and grassroots programs, and collateral generation to include copy writing, design input and oversight.

•Coordinate collateral production including work with external graphic design team and printers.

•Manage marketing budgets and negotiate with vendors to achieve goals with the greatest efficiency and effectiveness for the dollars invested.

•Closely coordinate with both Marketing and Communications team members and external consultants, as appropriate, to address brand and sales goals.

•Support Marketing and Communications team members in the development of The Music Center’s institutional brand.

•Collaborate with TMC Arts project managers/producers, as well as Advancement team members, to ensure the needs of all internal and external stakeholders are addressed.

•Work closely with The Music Center’s foodservice operations partner to manage the Plaza restaurant brands.



•Bachelor’s degree.

•Minimum 5 years professional experience in marketing, including hands-on experience in advertising, promotions.

•Thorough understanding of traditional and emerging media and experience working with social media.

•Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task with attention to detail and accountability to deadlines.

•Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to present information in a variety of formats.

•Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills.

•Ability to manage budgets.

•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and to interact effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders and colleagues.

•A passionate, energetic team-oriented individual with strong interpersonal and creative skills.

•Strong interest in the performing arts.

•Experience working in customer service fields a plus.

•Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

•Experience using a personal computer and with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook, PowerPoint) along with Adobe and design software, e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, etc.

Desired Qualifications:

•Restaurant marketing and communications experience.



The Music Center convenes artists, communities and ideas with the goal of deepening the cultural lives of every resident in Los Angeles County. The non-profit performing arts organization has two divisions: The Music Center Ops (TMC Ops), which manages The Music Center’s four theatres, an outdoor plaza and Grand Park on behalf of the County of Los Angeles; and The Music Center Arts (TMC Arts), which curates a world-class dance series, Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center; produces and presents programming in other arts genres with a focus on engagement; and presents nationally recognized arts education programs. The Music Center is also home to four renowned resident companies – Center Theatre Group, the LA Master Chorale, the LA Opera and the LA Philharmonic. With The Music Center On Location,™ the non-profit performing arts organization brings events and activities to locations outside of its Downtown Los Angeles campus. The Music Center also programs and manages Grand Park, the 12-acre civic park located immediately across the street from The Music Center.
