Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Associate will allocate half of their time to managing the Conservancy’s Cornerstone Membership Program and the other half to development events and fundraisers, program sponsorships, donation campaigns, and administration. Cornerstone Membership Program

  • Manage the administrative aspects of the program from sending renewal notices, entering memberships and generating acknowledgment letters using our donor database, Salesforce
  • Serve as liaison to Cornerstone Members; responding to inquiries
  • Research  and maintain files on current and prospective members to solicit for upgrades or new Cornerstone memberships
  • Strategize creative recruitment efforts for new Cornerstone members
  • Regularly refresh text for Cornerstone renewal and acknowledgment documents to reflect current issues and activities

Development Events (Benefit, Preservation Awards Luncheons, donor receptions, etc.)

  • Work with Director of Development to execute fundraisers and receptions
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, and coordinate with vendors and venues
  • Prepare timeline, agendas, and plan staffing and distribute in a timely way
  • Utilize Salesforce to track progress, maintain lists, and process event payments

Program Sponsorships and all non-member donations

  • Administer the process of soliciting and receiving donations for Preservation Advocacy Fund, Program Sponsorships, and other misc. fundraising campaigns unrelated to lower level memberships
  • Manage and help conceptualize other campaigns for new sources of revenue, such as Facebook fundraisers and crowdsourcing campaigns
  • Assist with other Development activities, as needed


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-3 years of Development experience
  • Work some evenings and weekends as needed to assist with special events


  • Experience organizing and implementing events
  • Knowledge of Salesforce
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Committed team player
