Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Marketing & Communications, the Digital Giving Coordinator is responsible for projects and tasks that support the fundraising, relationship-building, and communications efforts of the organization. They also serve as the lead coordinator of Chrysalis social media channels and digital marketing campaigns. They must be able to prioritize Development & Communications Team strategies while supporting organization-wide efforts and projects. This person is an early adopter of technological innovation who also values utilizing advances with a focused view on what is best suited for long-term strategy. The ideal candidate will be extremely personable, have excellent oral and written communication skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to provide extraordinary customer service to the organizations donors, volunteers, staff, clients, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Communications & Donor Engagement and the Manager of Marketing & Communications to develop and implement Chrysalis online communications and fundraising strategies
  • Support email fundraising campaigns by building, disseminating, and reporting on the performance of email communications
  • Maintain and create online giving forms via the Raisers Edge Online Express module; manage third-party digital giving opportunities including Facebook, EverydayHero (or similar platforms), Pledgeling (including donations via eVite), AmazonSmile, Paypal (including donations via Ebay, etc.); and evaluate new, appropriate digital fundraising opportunities
  • Maintain Chrysalis current recurring donor program; develop online systems to steward and retain existing recurring donors, while also cultivating new donors
  • Grow online and social media presence by creating and posting content for Chrysalis social media platforms, as well as engaging influencers and followers. Develop a calendar of content that includes Development & Communications campaigns and events, and actively seek content and information from all Chrysalis departments. Strategically field relevant requests with direction and review from the Manager of Marketing & Communications
  • With support from the Director of Communications & Donor Engagement and the Manager of Marketing & Communications, develop paid social media ad campaigns that align with appeal objectives, and identify opportunities to secure Google Ad grants
  • Utilize resources from pro-bono PR firm on development and implementation of social media strategy, informed by regular analysis of social media metrics
  • Produce, edit, and post videos for social media channels, donor appeal campaigns, and/or influencer campaigns; produce communications that are in line with Chrysalis voice for the websites newsroom and all platforms
  • Use analytics tools/reports to effectively monitor, track, and report results of print and digital communications efforts, including direct mail, email, website, and social media
  • Coordinate and ensure website CMS platform is up-to-date, secure, and content is up to date. Work with Director of Communications & Donor Engagement and Manager of Marketing & Communications on website (redesign) projects and receive and implement requests for content updates and page requests from across the organization
  • Oversee and maintain Chrysalis presence on other online platforms including Guidestar, Charity Navigator, LinkedIn, Yelp, as well as Facebook and Google Business Pages
  • Provide general support to Development & Communications team
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications/Required Skills:
  • Commitment to the organizational mission and sensitivity to the needs of low-income and disenfranchised populations
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or equivalent experience required
  • 1-2 years previous development, administrative, and/or service experience in a nonprofit organization preferred
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized; able to set and meet goals and deadlines
  • Strong multitasking and problem solving skills
  • Professional attitude; team player; able to collaborate to set and meet team goals and deadlines
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining confidentiality and good working relationships
  • Valid California Driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Strong data analysis, organizational, communication, administrative, and computer skills required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure without losing productivity or attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality
