Job Description

Under the direction of the Development Director, the Associate Development Manager will be an integral member of the Development team, providing insights and working directly with the museum’s leadership and donors. The Associate Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing annual giving campaign, from planning to execution, and working internally across various departments to ensure that the donor experience is present in all aspects of events and communications.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with Development Director and Executive Director on donor stewardship, including correspondence, renewals, database upkeep, and recognition programs

  • Track and monitor all insights associated with donors or foundations based upon gift agreements, conversations or fully executed contracts (invitations to events, recognition, etc.)

  • Work with Development Director to plan, implement, and execute all operational procedures as related to individual giving and capital campaigns, including print production for promotional materials and database maintenance

  • Create innovative solutions to prospect and cultivate donors through identification of target markets, implementation and organization of annual campaigns, and development of recognition benefits

  • Coordinate special projects that may include campaign acknowledgments for gifts, calendars, naming opportunities, and special events

  • Responsible for gift entry, generating thank you letters/cards, pulling mailing lists, generating donor reports, etc.

  • Manage departmental CRM (Salesforce), analyze data, and provide actionable insights to the department

  • Act as an internal point of contact for the Development Director and the contracted Grants Writer, developing relationships with various departments on grant application materials and post-grant award reporting

  • Responsible for keeping all team members up to date on current campaigns, special considerations for donors at events and recognition

  • Comfortable communicating with high level board members, donors and members

  • Collaborate internally with the Membership Manager and Partnerships Manager to create benefits and recognition for donors

  • Maintain customer/donor confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in customer relations, sales or non-profit organization strongly preferred

  • Polished professional demeanor; able to handle sensitive and confidential information

  • Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM system is strongly preferred

  • Availability to work nights/weekends as required

  • Experience working in events operations or events management helpful
