Job Description

The LA Operations Manager oversees all internal programmatic and operational logistics for the LA office and warehouses of Good+Foundation. The LA Operations Manager will work closely with the LA-based team and NY-based staff to support Good+Foundation’s mission of collecting and distributing essential children’s products to families in need throughout Los Angeles in a strategic and efficient manner.

Responsibilities Include:

·      Manage day-to-day administrative and financial operations for Los Angeles program, including careful reviews of monthly financial expenditures such as delivery and shipping charges, managing office and program supply orders, and fielding all calls and inquiries to appropriate staff

·      Oversee all product donation processing and inventorying tasks—both incoming and outgoing donations from individuals and corporations—to ensure an efficient and strategic approach to the distribution of essential children’s product to families in need throughout Los Angeles

·      Act as primary liaison between Good+ and third-party warehouse (Bell), ensuring timely and detailed communications to maintain a mutually beneficial partnership 

·      Ensure that the two Good+ LA warehouse locations (Culver City & Bell) are being used as effectively as possible to maximize the amount of product that can be received and distributed to Good+ grantee partners; work with LA Warehouse & Donations Assistant to meticulously track inventory at each location

·      Work closely with the National Director of Operations & Corporate Product Donations to oversee quarterly and annual product inventory checks at both LA warehouses

·      Work with the LA team to provide support and prepare inventory for all volunteer projects, both onsite in Culver City and offsite, as opportunities arise

·      Oversee the effective use of our app-based inventory and donation management system, Canvas, by staff members and grantee partners

·      Supervise and support the LA Program Assistant and LA Warehouse & Donations Assistant to continue to build strong systems that maximize the impact of Good+ Foundation’s donations and programs

·      Work with LA team to set and reach key national program and operational goals

·      Review quarterly partner requests and make educated purchasing projections for LA in concert with the NY program team

·      Collaborate with other Good+ staff in both and NY to provide programmatic support and content for key development activities, including fundraising events and meetings with donors and volunteer groups, including the LA Friends of Good+ group

·      Work with LA Program Assistant and Warehouse & Donations Assistant to ensure that monthly donation requests from grantee partners are reviewed, monitored, filled, and picked up in an efficient and professional manner 

·      Work collaboratively with LA and NY staff to support the application and quarterly impact reporting process for all LA grantee partners, including reviewing surveys, partner agreements, and participating in site visits

·      Work with LA staff to support the planning and implementation of strategic donations, program outings and events for grantee partners, as opportunities arise

 

Related skills and knowledge:

·      Exceptional organization and problem-solving skills

·      Strong management and supervisory experience

·      3 to 5 years’ experience working with nonprofit organizations, social workers, and/or case workers

·      Superb oral and written communication skills; fluency in Spanish, a plus

·      Experience with data tracking and analysis in Excel or other database formats

·      Able to effectively organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet established deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

·      Experience working as a member of a small team (5 Good+ staff members in LA and 14 in NY) and willingness to jump in whenever necessary

·      Ability to pick up new information quickly, while taking direction and guidance well

·      Experience with or understanding of product inventory processing in a warehouse setting, a plus

·      Grantmaking/foundation experience and working with non-profit grantee partners, a plus

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree or comparable work experience, a plus

Reporting: This role will report directly to the National Director of Operations & Corporate Product Donations, based in our NY office.

Schedule: 40 hours a week. Available to work nights and weekends, as needed. (Main office is located outside of Culver City on Jefferson Blvd.)
