Sea Shepherd Conservation Society's Donor Relations Associate supports the work of the Director of Major Gifts and maintains a portfolio of donors. A high level of confidentiality is required in this position. The successful candidate will demonstrate professional maturity and strong customer service skills in all aspects of their work.   Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Under the leadership of the Director of Major Gifts, the Donor Relations Associate will: Ensure that Director of Major Gifts is supported in his/her donor relations work, providing reminders, materials, and draft communications, as well as assisting with briefings, appointment scheduling, data entry, email, and reports; Work with the Director of Major Gifts to ensure data integrity of all individual donor records, including all coding, activity and strategy information is current; Assist with gift acknowledgments for first and mid-level donors and assist with stewardship strategies to build long-term relationships with these donors Provide baseline donor/prospect research as needed; Provide support to the communications team as needed; Assist with offsite event management tasks; Assist the Director of Major Gifts with celebrity relations via social media   Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree with preferred focus on public relations, nonprofit management, or communications Minimum of three years’ work experience in a related field, preferably nonprofit Ability to work with highly confidential and sensitive information at all levels Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of organization and efficiency Self-motivation with the ability to work well independently and under pressure Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet competing deadlines Ability to work creatively and effectively as a team member Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and Google Docs Friendly, positive, customer service-oriented personality Commitment to objectives of the organization Comfort level with complex database systems, preferably Raisers Edge Event planning experience a plus
