National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), a 100-year old nonprofit advocacy organization, is seeking a communications professional to protect and enhance America’s national parks. The communications manager will help develop and lead integrated, strategic and creative communications initiatives, with an emphasis on media outreach, to advance NPCA’s work to fight oil and gas development threatening national parks and their surrounding lands. The manager will also lead regional communications outreach work for the Southwest and Northwest regions, working with regional staff and Government Affairs, Conservation Programs and fellow communications team colleagues, along with external partners and stakeholders. Those with experience in environmental advocacy or policy-focused communications are strongly encouraged to apply. The position will be based out of NPCA’s Seattle or Los Angeles office, working alongside other regional staff as well as colleagues in the Washington, DC headquarters and other regional offices. The manager should excel working independently with remote colleagues in fast-paced work environment. The position carries a strong emphasis on leading earned and placed media campaigns, among other strategic and creative tactics.
