Proyecto Pastoral was founded in 1986 by community residents and the California Province of Jesuits. Our mission is to empower the community of Boyle Heights through grassroots projects in education, leadership, and service. Our programs include the Guadalupe Homeless Project, an emergency shelter for men and senior aged women; IMPACTO, a youth development program for  K-12  youth; Early Childhood Education Centers, focused on preparing children 18 months to 5 years old for kindergarten, and Comunidad en Movimiento (CEM), a civic engagement and leadership development program. Proyecto Pastoral also serves as the backbone organization for Promesa Boyle Heights, a cradle to career collaborative that is changing outcomes for neighborhood youth. Proyecto Pastoral serves over 6,000 children, youth, families and individuals annually. Position Summary: Proyecto Pastoral seeks a strategic financial leader for the  full-time  Finance Director position. The Finance Director will report to the Executive Director and work directly with the senior leadership team and board to steward the organization’s finances. Our ideal candidate is a smart, analytic problem solver and strategic thinker who can provide leadership for Proyecto’s budget and financial operations, human resources and other administrative functions, and staff the Board of Directors’ Finance and Audit Committees. RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Management ∙Responsible for leading the development of all financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and projections; including maximizing revenue to increase organizational impact. ∙Ensure accuracy of all financial information; provide regular financial reports to Executive Director, Board, and management team. ∙Manage the finance department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and functions; and maintain accounting policy and procedures manual to ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures. ∙Manage finance committee meetings and reporting ∙Manage organizational cash flow planning including proper recording of revenues, contributions, and cash receipts. ∙Manage and coach the finance department staff; including overseeing payroll, account payable and ensuring that receivables are collected promptly. ∙Analyze on a monthly basis the General Ledger and Balance Sheet accounts; and post journal entries including monthly and yearly closing entries; monthly account reconciliations. ∙Manage the preparation of annual budgets in partnership with management team. ∙Oversee the preparation of annual financial audits and proper filing of tax returns ∙Work with development and program staff to develop budgets, donor reporting, contract financial/ expense reports; and timely submission of billing for contracts. ∙Ensure compliance with all financial and contract reporting requirements for city, state and federal government agencies, and other restricted grants, contracts, and donations. ∙Ensure that costs are adequately allocated between grants/program and allocation basis properly documented. ∙Performs various accounting, administrative and other related duties as assigned and required by the role Human Resources/Administrative: ∙Oversee human resource functions including insurance & benefits policies and renewals (health and retirement plans), liability insurance, worker’s compensation (IILP lead). ∙Review and oversee negotiation of all leases and contracts. The Director of Impact & Continuous Improvement will lead data-driven strategic learning for the multi-partner Collective Impact collaborative, Promesa Boyle Heights (Promesa), and is a high-level leader responsible for creating a culture of continuous improvement to inform strategic decision-making through ongoing performance measurement and evaluation. The Director of Impact will strengthen evaluation infrastructure, processes and capacity-building efforts across initiatives, staff and partner organizations to impact community-level outcomes. The Director of Impact will build a data team to guide and support continuous improvement efforts and enable data access, data analysis, and data utilization for the Collective Impact collaborative. As a rapidly growing Collective Impact collaborative, the Director of Impact position will be key for sustaining and growing our movement. The Promesa collaborative consists of 15+ staff, 24+ partners, 3 schools, and 40+ resident leaders. The Director of Impact will report directly to the Promesa Managing Director, and will work closely with and is also accountable to the Promesa General Assembly, Steering Committee and partner schools, and Proyecto leadership. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Director of Impact must be committed to Promesa’s community mission, vision and overarching goals to facilitate the collective success by leading on the following: ·        Oversee the collection, analysis, and clear dissemination of data to support Promesa’s collective efforts to improve student and community-level outcomes; ·        Provide leadership around the development of shared measures and a shared measurement system, including related data infrastructure, that will track common outcomes and indicators across the collaborative and use results to inform learning and continuous improvement; ·        Develop continuous improvement methods and tools to support community-wide Solutions Teams that collectively adopt, track and report progress on the measures to guide collaborative action; ·        Build and champion a culture of continuous improvement at all levels across the organization to successfully adopt practices and norms that support and sustain data-informed organizational learning; ·        Coach and provide technical assistance to Promesa staff, partners, and Solutions Teams around data, evaluation, and continuous improvement; ·        Oversee capacity-building efforts to strengthen Promesa’s use of data and evaluation across initiatives; ·        Design and maintain a knowledge management system to ensure learnings are shared and used across Promesa; ·        Oversee the sharing of findings across stakeholders to consistently feedback the impact that Promesa is having in Boyle Heights ·        Recruit, train and manage Promesa’s Data Team including a Data Analyst and three Data Fellows, as well as oversee the Promesa Data Advisory Council, and other ad-hoc data/evaluation-related work groups, and coordinate with consultants to support the work. ·        Provide visionary, adaptive leadership, modeling Promesa guiding values at all times and fostering a culture that reflects them ·        Build relationships with and facilitate open communication with the Promesa stakeholders which include: Steering Committee, General Assembly, Comité de Líderes (resident leaders), Promesa staff members, and Proyecto Pastoral leadership;   QUALIFICATIONS This is an outstanding opportunity to play a critical role in supporting school and community transformation in Boyle Heights. Position Summary: The College and Career Senior Coordinator will work closely with the Promesa BH Community-School Coordinators, school counselors, colleges & universities, academic partners, students, and parents to ensure a college-going culture and supports for Boyle Heights children and youth from cradle through career. The Senior Coordinator will develop relationships and foster partnerships to strengthen and launch initiatives and campaigns that support students and families in understanding and being excited about college and careers; identifying internships and other college prep opportunities; maximizing college application and financial aid supports; and navigating the transition to college process. RESPONSIBILITIES:  Ensure a college-going culture and supports for Boyle Heights children and youth from cradle through career ●Recruit, coach and supervise 2-4 College Ambassadors to carry out and support the Boyle Heights Avanza High School to College Transition work. Supervision responsibilities expected to grow over the next two years as college persistence and success efforts expand. ● Work with Community School Coordinators, School Counselors, Colleges and Universities, academic partners, students and families to develop and launch new initiatives and campaigns that foster a college going culture and ensure cohesiveness, coordination and fluid communication among various partners. Examples of possible initiatives and campaigns are: college and career conferences at all school levels, peer mentoring programs, transition to college summer bridge program, passing a resolution to strengthen coordination and supports for the college transition, etc. ● Create structures and systems to increase numbers of high school students in Boyle Heights taking college level courses and be successful in those courses. ● Develop relationships and foster partnerships with high school counselors, colleges and universities and facilitate ongoing coordination meetings to ensure ongoing communication and progress towards our shared goals; ● Assess needs and gaps in the schools and help leverage partnerships, systems and resources to address college prep and college transition supports in the schools and community; ● Develop and implement outreach strategies to recruit, sustain and actively involve students and parents in Promesa Boyle Heights initiatives and to connect them to resources and campaigns to support a college-going culture. ● Develop and help implement training curriculum and tools to build college awareness, help students apply to and prepare for internships, and navigate the college application and transition process. ● Ensure ongoing communication, coordination, and alignment with Promesa BH Steering Committee, Promesa BH General Assembly, Proyecto & Promesa staff, and other core partners. ● Implement all initiatives with a focus on relationship building and strengthening social connections among participants, organizations, and partners. ● Develop and manage operating plans, timeline and delegation of tasks for key initiatives; ● Participate in coalitions and build awareness of the systems-level priorities identified in the Promesa BH plan; ● Oversee the coordination of Career Days and College and Career Week at the partner schools.   Senior Leadership The Senior Coordinator will also be responsible for: ● Fostering strong relationships and identify needs and structures to offer peer to peer support among senior coordinators ● Working as a team to identify opportunities for strengthening culture and team cohesion ● Working as a team to identify opportunities for capacity building and professional development opportunities ● Discern and steward big-picture issues and strategy ● Foster interdependence and integration across focus so that we don’t work in silos. ● As part of the Senior Coordinator team, the College and Career Senior Coordinator will participate, plan, and rotate facilitation of senior coordinator meetings.   Data and Evaluation ● Develop systems and tools on the use of academic & wellness data to inform learning & growth among various partners while fostering leadership and professional development; ● Support the design of quantitative and qualitative evaluation and reporting tools for a wide-range of partners; ● Support the development of our evaluation and data-system; apply quantitative and qualitative evaluation and reporting tools for a wide-range of partners. Familiarity with LAUSD data-systems and college completion tracking tools a plus; ● Communicate data results to a wide audience with variable research experience and expertise. ● Provide regular updates to Steering Committee, General Assembly, core partners, and allies regarding progress of achieving performance measures and other financial and evaluation data.    Basic Qualifications ● A minimum of 5 years of work experience working with schools, youth, and/or organizations. Experience supervising at least four staff. Candidates with less than 5 years of formal work experience will not be considered; ● A Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred. Reporting to the Promesa BH Steering Committee and the Promesa BH General Assembly, the Chief Director will lead the collaborative’s strategic growth and serve as a public ambassador for the initiative. The Chief Director will manage and support four focus area teams (Community School Team, Organizing Team, Early Education Team, and Wellness Team) that include 15+ staff, 24+ partners, 3 schools, and 40+ resident leaders. The Chief Director will also drive Promesa Boyle Heights’ internal and external functions, including strategy, communications, community engagement, and evaluation.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Chief Director will be responsible for facilitating the collective success of our community vision and goals, including; Leadership: ● Provide visionary, adaptive leadership, modeling Promesa Boyle Heights guiding values at all times and fostering a culture that reflects them; ● Developing, coaching and mentoring Promesa Boyle Heights team members; ● Establishing, facilitating, and executing effective and open communication with staff, particularly related to internal decisions and strategy; ● Developing systems to share organizational decisions with the Promesa Boyle Heights Steering Committee, General Assembly, Comite de Lideres and staff members; and Proyecto Pastoral leadership; ● Identifying capacity gaps and creating hiring plans and operational plans that acknowledge and plan for possible organizational growth and/or restructuring.    Strategic Coherence: ● Oversee the implementation of strategies outlined in the strategic plan and, when needed, support the development of other strategies that will drive transformative change in the region;  ● Maintaining understanding of current implementation challenges and developing comprehensive solutions to address them; ● In concert with relevant workgroups, developing annual goals connected to the strategic plan, policy and funding recommendations with guidance of the Promesa Boyle Heights Steering Committee; ● Providing direction and support to partner organizations in aligning their work to the Common Agenda; ● Acting as a neutral convener and helping resolve conflicts or disagreements among Solution Teams, General Assembly, Comite de Lideres, and Steering Committee.   Supporting Success of Collaborative Governance Structure and Solution Teams: ● Work with staff to lead planning for Steering Committee and General Assembly meeting preparation and facilitation; ● Building and maintaining relationships with collaborative partners and members of Steering Committee, General Assembly, Comite de Lideres, Proyecto Directors, and Proyecto Board; ● Coordinating with other projects and coalitions in the same field to maintain a full understanding of the current landscape of local and regional activities, and integrating their work into Steering Committee and Solution Team processes; ● Cultivate excellent working relationships with Chief education and community leaders involved in this initiative in a way that can inspire collective action without formal authority; and ● Building and maintaining strong relationships with community adult and young residents and community partners.   Fund Development: ● Identifying potential funding sources to support Promesa Boyle Heights goals and work with development team to develop and implement fundraising strategy; ● Providing support and guidance to partner organizations in aligning resources to Promesa Boyle Heights plan (e.g., supporting identification of grant opportunities that align to Promesa Boyle Heights goals); and ● Developing relationships with potential funders and participating in relevant networks.   Shared Strategy and Measurement: ● Oversee the development and implementation of a shared measurement system that will track common outcomes and indicators across the initiative and use results to inform learning and continuous improvement; ● Identifying improvements in use of data-driven decision-making and ensuring that data is collected, integrated, and communicated effectively across the organization.   Requisite Qualifications This is an outstanding opportunity to play a critical role in supporting school and community transformation in Boyle Heights.
