Are you an experienced development director who would like to apply your people skills working in a  faith-based  environment? Would you like to grow the ministry of a historical Presbyterian Church located midway between Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley? Bel Air Church is creating this new role to help us position the church for the future. The Stewardship Director will be a key staff member of the Capital Campaign team, responsible for promoting grateful giving and joyful generosity and for developing and implementing systems to ensure wise stewardship. The ideal candidate will be a  self-starter  with excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail and strong computer literacy. She or he will connect well with people and have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Provide education, training and support to church staff and volunteer leadership to enhance their personal understanding of these concepts as relates to the ministry of Bel Air Church. •Work with the pastoral team and ministry departments to create opportunities for aspirational giving at all levels. •Assist the pastoral team and ministry departments in connecting with church members to identify and cultivate their unique spiritual gifts and abilities. Partner with the pastoral team and ministry departments to inspire church members to use their gifts and abilities to support fulfilling the mission of Bel Air Church. •Develop stewardship strategies to connect with specific groups such as first time and lapsed donors. •Coordinate efforts with the communications team to ensure donors are updated on how their contributions are supporting Bel Air Church ministry. Help develop method, message and design for year round donor touchpoints. •Ensure continual alignment of capital campaign efforts with the vision of Bel Air Church. •Work in collaboration with others to identify the ministry needs of Bel Air Church. •Participate in the planning, organization and execution of selected capital campaign meetings and events. •Make connections between information in the donor database and information in the relationship management database. •Oversee the maintenance of the donor database and selected relationship management records for data/gift/donor stewardship including accurate, detailed records of donor outreach and donor giving history. •Oversee the process for recording and acknowledging all pledges, pledge payments and outright gifts. •Set development goals; track efforts; provide analysis including giving trends. Prepare and present reports on a regular basis to share results.     Position Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High relationship management skills. •Computer Skills: Demonstrates strong computer literacy, with emphasis on Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability operate standard office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and similar. Ability to learn new computer skills/software as necessary to the position., specifically relationship management software and donor database software. •Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: None required for this position. •Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and comprehend complex instructions and correspondence in English. Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear and fluid manner in  one-on-one  and group situations. •Mathematical Skills: Ability to understand and calculate numbers to the extent required by the position. •Reasoning Ability: Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions.
