The Grant Writer is responsible for writing and submitting private and public grants, including letters of intent and reports for Project Angel Food. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional interested in elevating the profile, reach and sustainability of the Project Angel Food brand. The Grant Writer reports to the Director of Institutional Giving and Strategic Partnerships. Responsibilities Research, identify and qualify funding opportunities from foundations, corporations and government sources. Develop and submit interim and final grant reports and other written materials as required by the funder.  Write, edit and proofread grant proposals, according to format required, and submit proposal to funding agency or foundation based on deadline. Discuss program requirements and sources with Director and program team to work out details of proposals. Oversee and track donor hard files and electronic tracking system, including the grants calendar. Write and manage acknowledgements for corporate and foundation donors. Develop a deep understanding of program content, collecting and synthesizing information about Project Angel Food and the industry as needed to make the strongest case for support. Help develop collateral materials for foundation and government grants and contracts.  Correspond with prospective funders, when necessary, for more information on deadlines, priorities and requirements. Assist with grant writing projects for the Capital Campaign. Participate in staff, fundraising, and/or other agency meetings as requested. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required with at least 5 years of professional and/or equivalent experience. Superb writing, editing and communication skills, eye for detail and follow-through. Excellent computer and presentation skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe) including knowledge of donor database. Highly organized, self-motivated and creative. Ability to analyze and present data in a compelling manner. Experience in preparing budgets and financial reports. Ability to handle multiple tasks under varying time constraints. Customer service orientation in dealing with donors; displaying professionalism and high level of business acumen at times. Experience working/volunteering in a hunger relief/food policy organization a plus.  Willingness and desire to work with a diverse team of staff and volunteers. Ability to work evenings/weekends and attend events as needed. Commitment to continuous process improvement. Commitment to the mission and values of Project Angel Food. To celebrate our 30 th  anniversary and to address the growing needs of the community we serve, Project Angel Food is preparing to launch a $5 million fundraising campaign designed to expand our capacity and ensure we can meet the demands of current and future clients. We are seeking an experienced full-time Campaign Consultant to create and implement a strategic development plan for this campaign, expanding and diversifying our funding stream and successfully meeting the goals of this campaign. This is a one-year renewable contract position with reappointment contingent upon successfully meeting mutually-agreed upon goals, with a 30-day termination clause that can be initiated by either party. This position will report to Richard Ayoub, Project Angel Food’s executive director, and work closely with the organization’s existing development staff and board of directors. Qualifications Strong, demonstrable track-record leading successful fundraising campaigns Experience with Capital Campaigns Deep understanding and demonstrable relationships in the Los Angeles philanthropic community Deep understanding of the organization’s client population Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with others Strong written and oral presentation skills Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Docs Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce, Blackbaud, etc) Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as required Primary Responsibilities In collaboration with the executive director and board of directors, primarily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develop and implement a fundraising strategy and timeline to fulfill the campaign fundraising goals; Develop relevant campaign messaging and collateral materials; Build relationships with high net worth individuals, charitable trusts, foundations and corporations to secure funding support; Personally solicit prospects for campaign contributions; Work with the Project Angel Food development staff to ensure ongoing operating support is not hindered by campaign goals and activities; Prepare monthly reports and give periodic presentations on fundraising strategy/ progress; and, Actively participate in staff and board meetings as needed. Reports to: Director of Programs Job Summary: New opportunity for community-health-focused individual with Master’s Degree (MSW preferred) and management experience.  Bilingual Spanish a plus. Will supervise client intake and outreach efforts for community-based provider of food and nutrition to seriously ill individuals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise Client Services and Outreach staffs. Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures necessary in the day-to-day operations of the Client Services Department. Represent Project Angel Food at local funding agencies, community meetings and events, and speaking engagements. Monitor agency meal delivery contracts and prepare monthly and quarterly compliance reports as required. Maintain collaborative efforts and oversee outreach efforts with hospitals, health clinics, social service agencies and other community resources to implement and monitor a system of referrals to Project Angel Food. With the Director of Programs, serve as staff liaison to the Program Committee and Client Advisory Board. Work closely with Project Angel Food Programs and Operations departments to maintain compliance with Project Angel Food’s quality assurance plan. Perform other duties as determined by the Director of Programs. Skills and Abilities: Experience and knowledge of general disease conditions in populations. Experience working with diverse populations that make up the LA County community. Sensitivity to the circumstances and needs of people affected by hunger and illness. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to formulate procedures and implement agency policy. Reliable transportation, valid CA driver’s license and proof of insurance are required. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Education and Experience: MSW Degree Minimum two (2) year management experience in the non-profit sector. Salary range: $55,000 – $60,000, commensurate with experience. The Communications & Marketing Manager is responsible for all communications and marketing activities for Project Angel Food, a prominent non-profit that for 30 years has prepared and delivered free, nutritious meals to the critically ill in LA County. Overall, this position is responsible for the entire brand awareness, community engagement and public relations outreach to support agency funding. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional interested in elevating the profile, reach, and engagement of the Project Angel Food brand. The Communications & Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Philanthropy. Responsibilities Develop, write and update content for printed materials and digital content (website, email, social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube).  Create/manage the communications calendar in collaboration with the Development and Volunteer Services departments to include all promotional activities and campaigns. Develop the agency’s social media strategy/plan in coordination with Director of Philanthropy, key staff, board members and other strategic partners; provide weekly social media and email analytics. Write and manage content for direct mail/email and other appeals and work with design and print vendors. Manage/collect/oversee a portfolio of client stories/photos and event and program images. Work closely with Development, Client Services, Volunteer Services, Nutrition Services, Dispatch and Kitchen to create and regulate content. Research and develop opportunities for text message marketing campaigns and oversee Project Angel Food’s Giving Tuesday digital campaign. Assist with press announcements, media alerts and press engagement at agency events and manage PR contact lists. Attend/manage PR for agency events; take photos and/or book photographers as needed. Provide support for marketing collateral for the Capital Campaign. Stay current/updated on food policy and advocacy efforts (e.g., Food is Medicine Coalition). Perform related duties as required. Qualifications Three years of social media/digital marketing experience. College degree in marketing/communications - combination of education and experience will be considered. Excellent writing, organization and communication skills with an eye for detail. Adept in social media analytics. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other creative software tools. Ability to handle multiple tasks under varying time constraints. Experience with crowdfunding campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising a plus. Ability to work evenings/weekends and attend events as needed. Willingness and desire to work with a diverse team of staff, volunteers and donors.
