Position Objective: To encourage and collaborate with major food companies and producers to adopt and strengthen meaningful farmed animal welfare policies.   General Responsibilities: Research which food companies in each sector have the potential to impact the most animals, review their current animal welfare guidelines, and prioritize outreach Draft outreach materials, including but not limited to email language, dossiers, and presentations Cultivate relationships with and maintain contact details for executives at major food companies Consistently engage with companies—providing research, news stories, connections to animal welfare experts, and other relevant materials—to persuade them to adopt animal welfare policies Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to persuade companies to adopt animal welfare policies and represent our corporate outreach efforts at conferences and other forums Serve as a media spokesperson for corporate outreach program and brainstorm compelling angles to promote corporate outreach work in the media Stay informed of industry trends and initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, the expansion of companies into other locations, and the diversification of their businesses Coordinate with the Animal Equality corporate campaigns staff on outreach and campaigns Collaborate with the Animal Equality Animal Welfare Specialist to thoroughly understand the animal welfare standards for which we advocate Stay current with the latest progress in the corporate outreach space and collaborate with other groups working toward the same goals Manage budget and ensure appropriate spending Evaluate and measure program efficacy and efficiency and suggest areas for improvement Conduct administrative duties such as scheduling travel and submitting expense reports Perform other duties as required by supervisor   Qualifications and Requirements: Minimum of two years of experience in nonprofits, public affairs, corporate affairs, government relations, issue advocacy, corporate campaigning, grassroots campaigning, political organizing, communications, psychology, sociology, marketing, business, or related field Sophisticated negotiation skills and proven ability to persuade or motivate others Vision, insight, creativity, and a strategic outlook Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, especially when faced with confrontational situations and while under pressure Initiative, resourcefulness, adaptability, and an unbeatable work ethic Comfort working within time constraints and meeting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy Self-motivation to work independently as well as a collegial personality conducive to teamwork Exceptional level of organization, efficiency, and ability to multitask Willingness to travel extensively Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of professional ethics Thorough knowledge of farmed animal issues Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle Commitment to the objectives of the organization Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, and PPT), Google Suite (particularly Docs, Sheets, and Slides), and Mac Keynote Experience with or comfort learning new technological platforms such as Zoom, Asana, and Slack Benefits Animal Equality offers an excellent benefits package. Carry out investigations that support Animal Equality’s strategic plan of advancing farmed animal welfare globally, documenting the conditions of animals raised for food, and providing the organization with compelling evidence for use in legal advocacy, public education, and corporate campaigns.   Primary Responsibilities and Duties: Conduct investigations into the conditions of farmed animals as assigned by Investigations Department management, following all organizational protocols to maintain high evidentiary standards ensuring timely and high-quality results Provide input on opportunities related to animal cruelty investigations Conduct online research and develop profiles of possible investigative targets Gather information related to corporate misconduct, and environmental and animal welfare violations as necessary Review footage and produce daily investigative logs while conducting field investigations Cooperate with attorneys, prosecutors, law enforcement and federal and state agencies Testify at hearings and court proceedings, as needed Manage allotted budget while traveling and provide weekly accounting records of all expenditures according to department protocols Maintain sensitive electronic equipment in good operating condition while traveling and working in harsh conditions Preserve confidentiality regarding all sensitive investigations matters Timely submission of all investigative materials Verbally/electronically update Director of Investigations regarding case activity on a daily basis Ability to meet investigations expectations while performing all required duties of secondary employer in a professional manner Strict adherence to all federal, state, and local laws Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor   Position Requirements: Ability to work independently while socially isolated and in harsh conditions Comfortable working menial jobs for long hours in an agricultural setting while exposed to; dead and dying animals, blood, feces, poor air quality and extreme noise levels Excellent attention to detail Experience with animals farmed for food preferred Must be able to work flexible hours and days including weekends Excellent report writing skills Ability to handle multiple priorities in fast changing environment Extensive travel for long periods of time Sincere commitment to work in support of the organization’s programs, goals and objectives Maintain a professional attitude and appearance when representing Animal Equality during work-related interactions Adherence to a vegan lifestyle Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times Strong working knowledge of animal rights and agricultural issues   Salary and Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience. To work with the International Director of Investigations in conducting research, compiling evidence and writing reports on factory farming industries examined through field investigations and document analysis.   General Responsibilities: Conduct online research into selected farmed animal companies Develop and maintain databases related to corporate connections, common agricultural practices, and animal welfare policies Monitor government notices of animal welfare violations and make FOIA requests for supporting documents Support the Director of Investigations in maintaining best investigative practices across all of Animal Equality’s international offices Review photo and video evidence collected by field investigators Logistical support for field investigations Organize and maintain video server Write reports based on evidence obtained by field investigators Other duties as assigned   Qualifications and Requirements: Degree in criminology, animal law, animal sciences or related field Excellent research, writing and editing skills Highly analytical approach to viewing graphic material filmed inside slaughterhouses and factory farms Ability to compile data from a variety of scholarly sources in support of investigative findings Comfortable working with various digital imaging formats, file transfer applications and server software Advanced knowledge of factory farming systems, standard practices, and welfare concerns Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere and Prelude Ability to work independently and complete projects under strict deadlines Proven ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality with sensitive materials at all times Adherence to a vegan lifestyle Commitment to the objectives of the organization   Salary and Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience.
