POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the day to day activities for new and existing volunteers, including tours and orientations and assisting with department special events with an annual volume of 35,000+ volunteer shifts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for recruitment, engagement and retention of individual volunteers as well as faith based and academic organizations to include Urban Experience groups. Coordinates and facilitates all volunteer group events. Coordination, facilitation and curriculum development for all volunteers engaging in programmatic activities. Manage Volunteer Management System (VMS) to optimize operational effectiveness. Support for coordination and facilitation of Annual Events. Plan and host new volunteer orientations. Give tours of URM as needed. Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURES: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Minimum of 1 year prior experience in a customer service-oriented setting, handling calls and email; ideally with previous event planning or non-profit organization work. Preferably managing volunteers. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent organization skills Must have intermediate to advanced level working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and be internet savvy. Salesforce experience is a plus. Flexible schedule; willing to work on weekends and evenings as needed. Must possess excellent people and customer service skills and be comfortable talking in a large group setting/ giving tours of the facility.
