Assists with implementation of marketing opportunities and initiatives. Coordinates with department executives and supports related department functions and programs in the areas of traditional and social media marketing and promotions, public and community relations, advertising, and event production. Responds to internal and external requests in a timely fashion and maintains highly organized documentation and reports with precise follow-up. Works as a team with marketing department and other administrative staff. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Tracks and responds to customer e-mails, comments and questions on website, Yelp or other customer review sites. Coordinates creative services requests and marketing projects from initial request through final placement or printing. Writes, updates, and facilitates addition of new content and changes to GSC website. Assists with Public Relations efforts including writing, editing and distribution of press releases, maintainance of media lists, and pitching stories to reporters / media outlets. Coordinates and traffics marketing campaigns, including creation of social media messages, text messages, e-mail blasts, advertising, signage, photos, and evaluation of results. Maintains and updates library of evergreen social media messages. Assists with creation and execution of social media contests. Coordinates production, printing, and trafficing of approved assets and collateral. Assists with planning and execution of marketing and community relations events, including but not limited to: GSC Department Events including Retail Store and ADC Grand Openings, Donor Events, Veteran Events, WCD Hiring Events, Marketing Events and Press Conferences. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: location, food and beverage, gifts and prizing, rules and regulations, décor, entertainment, attendee registration, preparation, promotion, photos, distribution of internal and external communcations (including flyers, press releases), and installation. Identifies and develops internal success stories. Assists with production of stories. Develops and maintains timely and accurate reports, including but not limited to: media and advertising, strategic goals monitoring and highlights, promotions tracker and recaps, media tracking report, and meeting minutes. Assists with department administration, including but not limited to: maintaining files and archives, appointments and calendar meetings and travel plans, correspondence, time cards, purchase orders, supply orders, expense reports, invoicing, equipment, supplies, and mail. Processes invoices and manages approved expenses. This position requires some travel (30% within Southern California); a valid CA driver's license and state-required auto insurance necessary. Driving records must be acceptable by company’s insurance vendor. Education & Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations or a related field or currently completing degree plus prior marketing experience. Minimum three years of marketing or public relations experience. Superior organizational and multi-tasking skills. Excellent oral & written and people skills. High degree of professionalism with ability to work under stressful situations and tight deadlines. Creative, detail oriented and a resourceful problem solver. Critical thinking and analytical skills. Outstanding customer services skills. Experience in working with people with disabilities helpful. Non-profit experience preferred. PC proficient.
