We work with children in impoverished communities around the world. IHF currently has three centers in Indonesia, one in Kenya and one in Thailand. IHF is currently seeking volunteers to be Guardians . We have four different sponsorship programs in which our children can be enrolled (Nutrition, Orphan, Medical, and Education), in addition to our supplementary class program at our Education Centers. Location The city of Chiang Rai is located inside the Golden Triangle, the meeting point of the borders of Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand, an ancient center of trade and rich cultural history.  In a mountainous region filled with lush dense jungles, and breathtaking waterfalls you will have the exclusive opportunity to work and live in this diverse and captivating region. Chiang Rai is unique as its population is made up of people from various ethnic backgrounds and is heavily influenced by the culture of the remote hill tribes who populate the province. Overview IHF has been operating it’s Center in Chiang Rai, Thailand since 2004 and has been working in some capacity with the Hill Tribes of Northern Thailand since 1984, providing providing a safe home for children of these marginalised stateless communities and enabling them to access free high quality education and medical care. Volunteers who sign up to donate their time at our IHF Thailand Center make a very real impact during their stay participating in any or all of the following local tasks: Provide hands on help with the Center's day-to-day operations Participate in a cultural exchange, organizing special games and activities with our children Supplement our children’s education by joining in with our evening English studies Help us to complete much needed repair/renovation projects around our center including but not limited to Fresh paint in the children’s playroom, main foyer/living space, and two bedrooms. Program Cost The fees associated with a volunteers stay vary depending on the number of hours they commit to IHF each day. All volunteers receive one day off per week to relax and explore the beautiful and culturally rich region. Legacy Traveler- Those committing 4 hours per day for between 2 and 4 weeks will pay $200 per week. Legacy Volunteer- Volunteers commiting 8 hours per day for a minimum of 4 weeks will pay $100 per week. Accommodation and meals, prepared by a local member of staff, are included in this program. All program fees go towards supporting our centers, running our programs, and caring for our children. You’ll have a fabulous tourism experience whilst ensuring your money is supporting a wonderful cause you’ll get to see with your own eyes. Summary The Downtown Women’s Center seeks a full-time Case Manager to provide outreach, housing placement, and individualized case management services to individual women and women with children who are homeless due to domestic violence. The Case Manager will be integral in developing outreach plans to engage women in services and establish eligibility. Once eligibility is established this position ensures clients have the needed financial resources to secure and maintain permanent housing, provides referrals, conducts safety plans, and assists with other services as needed. JOB DESCRIPTION   JOB TITLE:  Bilingual Counselor III, Child Care Scholarship OFFICE LOCATION: Durham DIVISION:    Child Care Resource & Referral SERVICE AREA: Durham DEPARTMENT:  Family Support CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Manager, Child Care Scholarship Program HOURS PER WEEK: 40   JOB SUMMARY: Determine eligibility for child care scholarship programs administered by CCSA, connect families to other programs for which they may have eligibility and help those families find appropriate, high quality child care, especially serving as a communication link between Spanish-speaking families and their child care providers or community resources.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ·      Treat information on CCSA clients, employees or Board members in a confidential manner ·      Educate families about quality indicators (what to look for and what questions to ask) ·      Tell families about community resources ·      Provide interpretation/translation between parents and child care providers and/or staffers that provide child care subsidy assistance ·      Work at off-site locations in order to provider services when, where and how families need them ·      Answer questions and explain program policies and procedures for clients as needed ·      Write and/or generate notification letters ·      Provide tax information relevant to a family’s income level ·      Provide information about child care scholarships ·      Determine eligibility for child care scholarships through a combination screening sessions and solicitation of applications ·      Communicate with families to enter, maintain and update their information for the Scholarship waiting list ·      Recruit child care providers to participate in various scholarship programs ·      Enter applicant and child care program information into database, update as needed and verify ·      accuracy on regular basis ·      Gather, enter, maintain, and report required parent and child care provider information ·      Process applications, make scholarship decisions and assign correct scholarships based on eligibility ·      Represent CCSA and the Family Support Department as directed at fairs and other outreach events ·      Perform other tasks as assigned by agency leadership   SPECIAL SKILLS: Effective oral and written communication skills with internal and external clients Computer experience; knowledge of or demonstrated ability to learn FileMaker Pro Attention to detail with ability to accurately handle large volume of administrative work Computer, data entry skills, telephone skills, and the ability to use common office equipment, such as copy machine, fax machine and postage machine Strong organizational skills as well as flexibility Fluent in Spanish (both verbal and written communication)   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood/ Child Development or related human services. POSTION SUMMARY The Program Assistant provides support to the Director as well as recreation and child care for program participants; including arranging and conducting on-site activities for children and adult residents a WTV. This included parenting and life-skill classes, tutoring, Holiday events and summer camps. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Assess youth and adult living at WTV to determine recreational needs and interest including parenting and life skills classes as well as tutoring, Holiday events and summer camps. 2)Plan and organize group activities and recreational opportunities for adults, youths and families. 3)supervise youth at-all-times during activities planned and adults during life skill class or other activities including any off-site activities. 4)Organize and supervise volunteers and teen council for all events; work with community partners for funding of activities and volunteer opportunities. 5)Responsible to plan, organize, obtain donors and volunteers for all major events such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and summer camp. 6)This is a full-time position that may require weekend hours. 7)Organize trainings for incoming volunteers, PTM, Scared Boundaries and work with Headquarters to obtain volunteer clearance. 8)Back-up Receptionist in answering telephone, Greeting clients and visitors and completing administrative tasks. 9)Work with Director on monthly billing to help manage expenditures within budget. 10)Maintain personal files, plan ,coordinate and implement all personal training required. 11)Maintain a positive and professional attitude always and respect the confidentiality of all clients and staff. 12)Perform other duties as assigned. WORKING CONDITIONS Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, Push, Pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone and smart TV. Ability to lift to 35lbs. Must get along with children.
