The Annenberg Foundation is a family foundation that provides funding and support to nonprofit organizations in the United States and globally. Since 1989, it has generously funded programs in education and youth development; arts, culture and humanities; civic and community life; health and human services; and animal services and the environment.
The Ahmanson Foundation serves Los Angeles County by funding cultural projects in the arts and humanities, education, health care, programs related to homelessness and underserved populations as well as a wide range of human services.

California Community Foundation
The California Community Foundation (CCF) has been an essential community advocate in the Los Angeles area since 1915. With more than $1 billion in assets, CCF is one of the largest foundations of its kind in the nation.
As a community foundation, CCF is a nonprofit organization committed to transformative change across Los Angeles and around the world. It provides information regarding pressing societal challenges, services to donors, and funding to selected nonprofits.
IndieGoGo is the world’s largest global funding platform, having raised millions of dollars for thousands of campaigns worldwide. It creates fundraising campaigns for organizations, businesses or individuals to tell their stories and get the word out. It provides an easy way to raise or donate money. A very useful tool for engaging with the wider public in smaller donations.
Similar to Indiegogo, Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects worldwide. Individuals pledge money in support of projects from the worlds of Art, Comics, Dance, Design, Fashion, Film, Food, Games, Music, Photography, Publishing, Technology and Theater.
Project creators keep 100% ownership and control over their work. Every project must be fully funded before its time expires or no money changes hands. Kickstarter has helped fund over 24,000 projects over the last 10 years.
Kiva is a nonprofit organization that connects people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world. Kiva provides you with the opportunity to choose a borrower, follow your loan, receive a payment, and reinvest.
Kiva City LA works to expand access to financial services for small businesses that have the dream and the potential, but that are locked out of traditional commercial loans. For these businesses, microlending through Kiva City can serve as a bridge, providing commercial credit history and working capital to start up, expand operations, and hire or retain employees. Kiva City LA is a partnership with the Valley Economic Development Center, the Mayor’s Office of Small Business, Kiva and Visa.
The Irvine Foundation has long been at the forefront of philanthropy in California. Its core program areas are: Arts, California Democracy and Youth, with a special emphasis on the San Joaquin Valley and the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties). Los Angeles Social Venture Partners (LASVP) works with nonprofits to help strengthen them and help them to deliver on their missions. Through this work and other educational activities, LASVP expands the philanthropic capacity of its partner organizations.
Each Social Venture Partner makes an annual contribution of $5,000 to LASVP. There is also the option of contributing $1,500 as an Associate Partner. The organization pools these funds for investment in local nonprofits, but the core of its philanthropy is engagement. The partners give of themselves—their time, their expertise, and their business contacts—to help the organization’s nonprofit investees achieve growth goals that they often thought were impossible.
